1. BIG UPDATE: 45-Day Visa Exemption for Romanians
Starting from August 15, 2025, and continuing through 2026, citizens of Romania are officially eligible for 45 days of visa-free entry to Vietnam for tourism purposes.
Stay Duration: Up to 45 days (including arrival and departure dates).
Requirements: Your Romanian passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have at least two blank pages.

2. When Do Romanians Still Need a Visa?
Even with the exemption, you will need to apply for a visa (E-visa or Visa on Arrival) if:
You plan to stay in Vietnam for longer than 45 days.
Your purpose of entry is Work or Investment.
You wish to enter and exit Vietnam multiple times within a short period (outside the exemption rules).
3. Vietnam E-visa for 90 Days
For stays up to 90 days, the E-visa is the most recommended option in 2026.

Processing: 3–5 working days.
Cost: 25 USD (Single) or 50 USD (Multiple) government fee.
4. Mandatory for 2026: The Digital Arrival Card
Regardless of whether you enter visa-free or with an E-visa, all travelers from Romania must now complete the Digital Arrival Card before landing.
Effective Date: April 15, 2026.
Timeline: Must be submitted within 72 hours before your scheduled arrival.
Process: Submit your details online to receive a QR Code. You must present this QR code to immigration officers at major airports like Tan Son Nhat (SGN) or Noi Bai (HAN).
